About:

Funny enough, it all started with a video game.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, a puzzle-based visual novel where you solve crimes and expose the guilty party in court, singlehandedly kickstarted my love for detective media. The characters, the logic-based gameplay, the masterful weaving of mystery, heart, and humor... It'd be an understatement to say the series has continuously inspired me. You can probably tell I'm a bit of a diehard - and I don't think Ace Attorney's influence has ever as blatant as this:

my own episodic mystery-solving series, Liz Hawk!

My first story, The Missing Eraser, was whipped up over the course of an uneventful week in early 2024. A craving for mystery overtook me - and I was suddenly struck by the idea of building my own detective from the ground up! As it happened, I had a certain character simmering on the backburner. I wondered what her childhood might've been like... and next thing I knew, I'd written nearly 10,000 words of the girl's very first case. I printed it out and stapled it into a small book, bound between a folded sheet of orange construction paper. My talented friend Faith sketched out some cover art... and voilà! I had a nice, little demo copy to pass around.

Since then, I've been filling out the timeline in my head and scrambling to catch up. Three books down, so far... but the story's just beginning; I have twists, turns, triumphs, tragedies, and about twenty different Salsa subplots planned for this series. Strap in, if you decide to pick up a copy of Liz Hawk: School Detective ($10 paperback $5 e-book) - these little classroom mysteries are going to ramp up, fast. If you need proof, just check the sequels ($12 paperback $6 e-book)!

...There's no such thing as shameless plugging when it's on my own website, right?
